When I am gone and left this place
Life will just roll on
I wonder if I may have left an impression on your soul.
A gentle touch a timely word, a little pearl for you.
I wonder if you will remember all the love and all the ways in which you shaped me, helped me, made me.
Challenged me, softened me, hardened me, pushed me.
Like the little pearl living inside the oyster shell which produces a shiny coat as the grit gets down on the inside, as it irritates so it produces a beautiful glossy pearl, challenges, produce a refinement in us if we let them.
Lots of things do that to me, inequalities, injustices, unfairness, poverty, lack of education, ignorance, racism, ageism, sexism hatred…all those things get to me, irritate me and as they get down on the inside they shape me, make me think, consider, to persue to find a better new tomorrow.
For me and you, for all the little ones being born, babies everywhere, pregnant mummies, just born babies and little toddlers growing up.
Adapting to all the changes that are new and unknown.
All the little children going back to school in this post Covid world
As I sit here in one of my spots looking at the lake I see a rainbow in the fountain. It moves as the light changes, as the sunlight causes a spectrum of colours to bow. I’m reminded of its purpose to offer hope of a new tomorrow.
A symbol of freedom, unity, peace and promise for our world.
To not divide, but to invite, to love, cherish and not hate…may tomorrow be a better world for me and you, for the babies and those growing up, for those in their teens and twenties just starting out.
May there be a promise of a better world …for those who may look or act differently to you or are disadvantaged or disabled, or suffering, may we build a fairer world. For our tomorrow’s are not assured. We can move forward with bright hope and vision taking what we’ve learnt about ourselves and make the changes within.
So as we move forward and the pubs open up and the tables are set at every corner cafe let’s not forget what we can be or can become in our post Covid or living with Covid world.
My hope is that we will be better, more caring, less narrow minded, open to be corrected and learn, to share our humanity with others we meet who may be different to ourselves, not just in the colour of their skin, but in their culture, their understanding of the world. We all have something to learn from one another !
Post Covid Big hearts💗 not broken hearts💔
