Stop the worry…

Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.

Worry can be quite productive and highly unproductive both at the same time, we think, consider, and think some more.We may make a decision about something or we may be considering what may happen. In our primeaval attempts to assess a dangerous situation we can let our worry get away with itself.

When thinking turns to chronic worry, that can turn into anxiety which can lead to depression. When we are fixated with a probable disastrous outcome of a situation that hasn’t yet happened we can allow our minds to runaway with every permutation of outcomes. We risk assess constantly without thinking about it but when that develops into worry it becomes unhealthy and damaging to our well being. That’s when we can re wire our neural pathways by excercising postive thinking, mindfulness and talking therapies as they will help us to reconstruct helpful thinking.

Worry and anxiety isn’t new but what we know about it is new and there are actions we can take to help our unhelpful thinking.

The stresses of life and concerns and worries of this world can weigh us down, but when we lay them out or write them down and talk to a trained practitioner we can find a way through them. The Bible suggest praying about them, that’s talking to God about them and then you may find a way through them or find they are not as big as you imagined them to be!

Hope these words of encouragement help you through your dark times or even over your little humps !
