More peace…..

Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always].

I’m making a collection of Peace quotes firstly from the Bible then moving further to other authors to compare….this isn’t deliberate it’s just happening as I read, these words just keep popping up for me..I’m thinking is something going to happen whereby I need to gain a lot of peace for myself and others or is this my own practice to share what I’ve learnt and how?

Let peace control you, much of what we do in this fast moving world today causes us to react with irritation, stress or anger. To react in peace seems like it may need a lot of practice, a discipline in fact.

To be honest with ourselves and how we feel is good, to acknowledge our feelings is healthy but to live by them ruling us and spurting out like toxic steam at others is not attractive, in fact it’s a recipe for friend avoidance not by you but by them!

No one likes being around people who constantly spew out, over react, portray a hostile nature or are generally volatile. It’s uncomfortable, dis-harmonious and unpredictable.

People will come to you with their problems or just to spend time with you if they know you’re going to listen, be calm, exhibit peace, love and acceptance.

You life will be more manageable, your physical and mental health more balanced. Of course we don’t live in an ideal world it’s full of challenges but as we take hold of this inner peace that changes us and transforms our reactions, our thoughts and desires we change, our outlook on life is different, it doesn’t mean we walk around as if on a cloud of cotton wool above every problem, but it means we may have some reserve to deal with those problems head on without losing our s…t.

I’m preaching to myself here working constantly on the inner peace that transforms my body and mind, that ceases anxious thoughts, learnt behaviours, remembered reactions , genetic dispositions and cultural norms.

May that wonderful peace permeate you’re heart and mind and bring lasting inner peace so that you may glide like a swan or a duck over your troubled waters and find you life and you’re relationships transformed and renewed.

From one pearl to another.
